How to set my shipping rates for dropshipping?
Shipping Considerations for Dropshipping Orders
Shipping in the context of dropshipping is a critical part of the overall transaction and can significantly impact the order's total cost and margin for the retailer. The shipping costs vary depending on the country, product category, product size, and the quantity of items ordered.
For this reason, you have the possibility to manage different fees associated with dropshipping orders.
Important Note: Shipping rules for dropshipping differ from our regular marketplace. Shipping settings are entirely under your control and directly affect the dropshipping product prices. Please be aware that Orderchamp is not responsible for any additional compensation.
Countries & shipping values
When configuring a product group specifically for dropshipping, you will need to define the countries served and the associated shipping and handling costs.
You can create different groups based on countries if shipping costs vary significantly depending on the destination.
Shipping fee
The shipping fee is applied once per order. If an order includes products from different groups, the highest applicable shipping fee is used.
Handling fee
The handling fee is applied once per order and should reflect the cost of preparing the order.
Additional product fee
This fee is applied to each additional product added to the order, allowing for variable costs based on the quantity of products ordered.
Time to Ship
Before activating the product group, it's crucial to set the correct lead time for your dropshipping orders. This is essential for setting clear expectations for the retailer's customers.
If you can fulfill B2B2C orders at the same rate as B2B orders, you can use the same settings as your Orderchamp storefront. However, if there are differences in lead times, please customize the lead times specifically for dropshipping.
