Managing your shipping settings with the Order Portal
Before operating your private B2B webshop through the Order Portal, it is crucial to properly configure your shipping settings. This article will guide you through the process of setting up shipping rules to ensure a seamless experience for you and your customers.
From the backoffice, navigate to the "Settings" tab under the Order Portal section to configure your shipping elements:
Shipping
Setting up your shipping zones and fees correctly is essential for the success of your webshop. Shipping costs can vary greatly depending on the size and weight of your products and the destination. To manage this effectively, we recommend creating shipping groups segmented by product sizes and geographic zones.
Here’s how to configure your shipping settings:
Steps to create a shipping group
-
Name your shipping group: This name is for internal purposes only and will not be visible to customers.
-
Define shipping fees: Assign a shipping fee for the group and specify the countries it applies to.
-
Segment by country: Create different shipping costs for different countries within the group.
-
Add additional fees per product: Optionally, include extra fees for additional products within the group.
Default shipping group
To simplify the process, we create a default shipping group for you with pre-selected countries. You can customize this group and its fees to better suit your needs.
Assigning products to shipping groups
After defining your shipping zones, assign products to the appropriate shipping groups. This ensures that the correct rules and fees apply to each product based on its size and destination.
Important rules to note
-
Default shipping settings: When a product is published on the Order Portal, the default shipping group’s settings are automatically applied unless you specify otherwise.
-
Channel-specific publishing: Some integrations (e.g., ChannelEngine, Channable, FTP) allow you to specify the channels where a product should be published. If you assign a product to only one storefront, it will automatically be published to all channels associated with that storefront.
