What is volumetric weight?
In the case of bigger sized shipments carriers will charge the volumetric weight if it exceeds the actual weight (actual weight is the normal measurement you get from a scale). A big box of feathers may only be a few kilos but still has a higher shipping fee because of its size, this is because it has a higher volumetric weight.
The calculation for volumetric weight (for carrier shipments) is the following:
Length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm) / 5000
Example: a box that is 100cm long, 60cm wide and 40cm high has a volumetric weight of 48kg.
If your shipment’s volumetric weight is higher than its actual weight, then please provide the volumetric weight.
