Setting up tax information

While setting up your account and storefront, we ask you to correctly set your tax information to avoid incorrect invoices.

VAT number

During the registration process we’ve asked you for your VAT number. Please check if this is still correct by following these steps:

  1. Go to your Orderchamp back office.
  2. Click “Settings” in the navigation bar on the left hand side.
  3. Go to “General Settings”
  4. Under your company details you will find the field “VAT number”. Correct if needed.

If you are not liable for taxes (small business), simply check the box for “My company is not liable for VAT”.

Tax level per product

The wholesale price you fill in for your products in your Orderchamp backoffice should be excluding VAT. To determine if and how much VAT the retailer has to pay, we calculate this in their checkout based on their VAT information and on the tax level you have set for your products. When creating your products, please specify if we should charge a high or low (i.e. food) VAT percentage.

Which percentage exactly will be charged, is dependent on the country. For example: the Netherlands has a high VAT percentage of 21% and a low percentage of 9%.
